Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy, as it is practiced today, involves the use of essential, massage or perfume oils derived from liquefied plant materials to promote a person’s psychological and physical well being.

The setting for aromatherapy can range anywhere from a spa, to a hospital, to your own bedroom. Aromatherapy can be experienced through nasal inhalation or skin absorption via baths or massages. However, to those not familiar with aromatherapy and its origins, it may appear void of any purpose other than mere sensory pleasure. In other words, is there more to aromatherapy than what meets the nose?

The answer is yes! The present uses of aromatherapy are tied to its rich past, where there were a plethora of uses.

Used by most ancient civilizations, aromatherapy is widely speculated to have originated in Egypt. The Egyptians were experts at embalming, which is the process of using aromatics to help preserve dead bodies. It was typical for living Egyptians to be massaged with fragrant oils after bathing.

Cruises

While some people may think cruising is expensive, a cruise vacation is actually a great value and is a very smart, affordable way to travel.
Where to start? Planning a cruise vacation is very easy. Many people like to start by choosing a Destination. Others choose their cruise by Port of Departure, or even the Ship.

Explore all of the adventures available to you onboard a cruise ship – from rock climbing, to wine tasting, to sitting poolside, a wide variety of activities are offered for you to choose from.

There are over a hundred ports of call, in some of the world’s most breathtaking locations. From the rugged beauty of Alaska and Canada/New England to the charm of Europe and the lush landscapes of Mexico, Hawaii, the Caribbean, the Panama Canal, Bermuda, and the Bahamas.

The shore excursions will take you on adventures that you’ve only dreamed of. Over snow and sand. Through air and sea. Up mountains and along fjords. And for the best of both worlds, there are cruisetours - a combination of an amazing cruise vacation and a land tour to the places a cruise ship just can’t go.

There’s no one way to experience your destination than on one cruise ship, and that’s the thrill of it. So what are you waiting for? To start planning your next cruise vacation, choose a destination.

Maui

The Island of Maui is the second-largest of the Hawaiian Islands at 727 square miles.
Native Hawaiian tradition gives the origin of the island’s name in the legend of Hawaiʻiloa, the Polynesian navigator attributed with discovery of the Hawaiian Islands. The story relates how he named the island of Maui after his son who in turn was named for the demi-god Maui. According to legend, the demi-god Māui raised all the Hawaiian Islands from the sea. The Island of Maui is also called the “Valley Isle” for the large fertile isthmus between its two volcanoes.

Ringed by 120 miles of coastline, Maui boasts over 30 miles of beaches.
All of Maui’s beaches feature sparkling crystal-blue waters, tropical tradewinds, and azure skies that go on forever. Most of Maui’s beaches have white sand but black and red sand beaches are also a part of our island’s inventory.

Expect great activities in the air, on land, as well as in and on the ocean when you visit the Valley Isle of Maui, Hawaii.

Thailand

Thailand, officially the Kingdom of Thailand, is a country in Southeast Asia, bordering Laos and Cambodia to the east, the Gulf of Thailand and Malaysia to the south, and the Andaman Sea and Myanmar to the west.

Thailand is home to several distinct geographic regions, partly corresponding to the provincial groups. The north of the country is mountainous, with the highest point being Doi Inthanon at 2,576 metres. The northeast consists of the Khorat Plateau, bordered to the east by the Mekong river. The center of the country is dominated by the predominantly flat Chao Phraya river valley, which runs into the Gulf of Thailand. The south consists of the narrow Kra Isthmus that widens into the Malay Peninsula.

The local climate is tropical and characterised by monsoons. There is a rainy, warm, and cloudy southwest monsoon from mid-May to September, as well as a dry, cool northeast monsoon from November to mid-March. The southern isthmus is always hot and humid. Major cities beside the capital Bangkok include Nakhon Ratchasima, Udon Thani, Nakhon Sawan, and Chiang Mai.

The Kingdom of Thailand draws more visitors than any other country in southeast Asia with its irresistible combination of breathtaking natural beauty, inspiring temples, renowned hospitality, great cuisine and ruins of fabulous ancient kingdoms.

From the mountains of Mae Hong Son and the limestone islands of the Andaman Sea, to the dance clubs of Bangkok and the tranquil villages moored along the Mekong River, Thailand offers something for every type of traveller.

Australia

Australia, officially the Commonwealth of Australia, is a country in the Southern Hemisphere comprising the world’s smallest continent and a number of islands in the Southern, Indian and Pacific Oceans. The Great Barrier Reef, the world’s largest coral reef, lies a short distance off the north-east coast and extends for over 2,000 kilometres.

Any season is perfect for vacationing in Australia. Summer (December to February) can get uncomfortably hot but it’s great beach weather. Up north, the summer wet season is very, very humid and the sea is swarming with box jellyfish. Winter (June to August) offers skiing in NSW and Victoria. In spring and autumn the weather is mild.

Australia is huge, almost double the size of Europe. Although it is justly renowned for its natural beauties - its red core contains some of Earth’s finest sculptures - its varied cities offer their fair share of art, architecture, formal gardens and historical interest.

China

China is a large cultural region and civilization in East Asia. With over one-fifth of the world’s population, the majority of China is governed by a state known as the People’s Republic of China, with the exception of the other state known as the Republic of China which currently governs the island of Taiwan. The region has been home to a long-standing civilization comprising successive states and cultures dating back more than 6,000 years.
China is composed of a vast variety of highly different landscapes, with mostly plateaus and mountains in the west, and lower lands on the east. As a result, principal rivers flow from west to east, including the Yangtze (central), the Huang He (central-east), and the Amur (northeast), and sometimes toward the south (including the Pearl River, Mekong River, and Brahmaputra), with most Chinese rivers emptying into the Pacific Ocean.

Why come to China?…

-5000 Year old culture

-Amazing historical landmarks (the Great Wall of China, the forbidden city, Lama Temple, Xi’An)

-The food is great!
-The people have great hospitality: friendly, welcoming, sense of humor.
-Learn Chines!
-For Business: China is one of the fastest growing economies, and, just for example, every major IT company in the world today has a development office in Beijing now.
-For Culture: When you learn language, you also learn the intracacies of culture (that’s why you often miss a lot when you study Chinese in a non-chinese speaking country)
-Scenery: China has some of the worlds most impressive scenery. The mountains, the waterfalls, the great West Lake, the deserts of Inner Mongolia.
